oh he looks gorgeous (: i think almost all dressage horses can jump some heights with a little bit training and time. but one woman in our stable though her dressage horse could learn jumping 1.10m in one and a half week she fell through the licence.

Of course they can. The other day we took 19 year old Friesians that have done dressage their whole lives (which makes them quite healthy :]) and jumped them and they easily cleared 3 1/2 feet with a rider, probably could have done higher!

most dressage horses can jump. we free jump almost all of ours, on a farm with over 100 horses…with the exception of one, we free jumped her and she was lame the next day…but she’s a big baby. lol

I was once on a horse with my lesson in a equestrian center and we had to trot over some poles on the ground and jump over a low obstacle, but I didn’t know that the horse I was sitting on was a dressage horse on a high level. I had a hell of a ride since he didn’t know how to deal with it XD

It’s not that dressage horses can’t jump….but they are used for their particular talent on the flat. Event horses can’t match a dressage horse on the flat, and dressage horses can’t match an eventer on the xc course. All performance horses are wonderful athletes, and all can excel in their own discipline and be talented in another…Just appreciate the equine athlete everyone!
