Any Tips on a Horse Novel?
Hi! Im currently writing a story about a girl who gets an unsuspected horse, and makes two new friends that same day. She realizes once that when she’s at the fairground with her new friend, Selene, Grace forgot to call her soon-to-be boyfriend, Roy. As she’s dialing the number, Mass chaos breaks out when a boy looses his frightened mustang. Afraid her horse, her or anyone else here would get hurt, she dismounts and courageously stands in the path of the mustang. Grace manages to get the mustang under control, and became the big hero of the day. Grace and Selene decide to go have some fun, so they went to a practice arena, and began practicing jumping, but when selene got bored of that she decides to have some fun and play some horseback tag.
So, do you know of any other ideas? (NOTE: next they go through jumping competitions, and Dressage.)
The Characters:
Selene: A tall, pale girl with long, fine black hair. Her age is 18 and loves her white Noriker/Thoroughbred cross.
Whisper My Dream: Selene’s 16 hand high White noriker Cross stud. Very Excitable.
Grace: A tall, blonde eighteen year old girl with long hair, and loves horses. all her life she’s dreamed of owning one, and on one evening her dream comes true.
Shadow’s Moonlight: a 17.3 hand high black thoroughbred stud, who loves his new owner, Grace.
Calm, Loving, Excitable
But yeah, Please if you have any idea, post it! 
Hayley, i love your idea! and i was thinking that it could be that boy that lost his mustang earlier… like he has two horses and entered one in the jumping or dressage, but was jealous and wanted to win, that he drugged Selene’s horse….
They become friends when Grace’s dad ordered the horse, and entered grace in jumping, and asked selene to take her. Grace’s dad knows the family, but Grace doesn’t. So basically a friend appeared on her front step.
Umm, what about this: (it’s more of a blurb, but it gives my ideas)
Somebody is threatened by selene’s talent in competitions and will do anything to bring her down…..what happens when her 2 best friends get caught in the middle? And who is it? With horses, competitions, best friends and the rest, and with competitions fast approaching, with a rival rider, set on ruining selene’s career before it even begins, what are they gonna do?

I don’t know, it could be just you describing it but it doesn’t really sound like it has a point. That happened to me with the first manuscript I sent in. My editor suggested that in the future I work off of a plot diagram so that I know where it’s going at all times.
I agree with hayley, you really need a Villon for your story. Some narrow escapes, something to build tension. Also a cool story for how the girls met, maybe they start out not liking each other but something brings them together.
There’s an old book called "saddle the storm" about a irish tb named galway storm. I was inspired to write my own "novel" by it lol. If you can find it, It’s a good one.
