Dream Farm + Horse? :)?
Okay, I’m really bored. Plus I can’t ride and haven’t since April. And I really want to. So I figured I’d ask you guys a question you’d have fun answering
(Okay, it’s technically two questions, answer both or one, whatever you’d prefer). So, what is your dream farm? And your dream horse(s)?
My dream farm:
Okay, I have a 6 page Microsoft Word document I typed up detailing boarding packages, prices, etc. And I’m only 14- but I’m preparing now
This is what I want:
Boarding/Lesson/Horse Training barn (50-70 stalls, IDK)
Rescue Barn (20 stalls)
Mare/Foal Barn (10 stalls)
Stallion Barn (8 stalls)
My personal private barn (20 stalls)
Boarding/Lesson/Training indoor arena, 2 outdoor arenas (One dressage, one jumping)
My personal private indoor and outdoor arenas
Pastures for all the barns + a few larger ones for pasture boarders. All the pastures would have shelters in them.
A cross country course with fences ranging from baby beginner novice to prelim size.
Preferably 100+ acres of trails
And I’d want everything to be built out of cream colored stone
And dream horse(s) (Don’t know whether it will be plural or not haha):
Breed: Hanoverian
Gender: Mare
Color: Dapple gray/buckskin/flaxen chestnut/palomino/black/light bay (Really any of those
)
Age: 6 years
Height: 17.2hh (I know they say that Hanoverians shouldn’t be over 16.3hh, but I like my horses to be big
)
Discipline: Eventing
Personality: Really sweet and calm, but very energetic, loves to jump, not afraid of anything, big floaty paces
Now it’s your turn!
Oh yeah forgot to say the boarding/lesson/training barn would have 2 wash stalls w/hot/cold water, and tack rooms with private lockers for the boarders.
My barn would have a wash stall and I’d have a private tack room.
Plus two bathrooms in the boarding/lesson/training barn.
I’d love to heat/air condition my barns too- not so much that it’d be really expensive, but to around 60 in the winter (It can get down to below 10 fahrenheit here, so 60 would be warm enough to ride comfortably) and maybe 70 in the summer when the temperature outside was over 80.
LaLuna you reminded me- I want to have a track to gallop on because there was one a trail riding distance away that I’d go to and gallop my lease horse at. It was really fun ![]()
Haha Shannon- well, you’d have to either come to Maine, Pennsylvania, or Virginia to get to my barn. Cause those are the states I’d have it in
(I live in PA right now).
Coincidentally you know in 10-15 years Pittsburgh (I live right outside it in a little town) will be the new Hollywood? Yes, that’s right, I have it from my brother who has it from his friend who has it from HIS brother’s friend who works in the movie business. So soon I’ll be living where all the stars are.
It’s because you can film Chicago/New York/other big cities here all year round and in the summer you can film places down south rather easily (Just drive to the lakes
)
LOL LaLuna I almost forgot too
I was reading over it and I was like "OMG I forgot about bathrooms!" I wouldn’t have any in my barn because I plan on living on the premises so I could just go to my house. I mean, I’d probably have a sink in the tack room for washing stuff, but I could just go to my house ![]()
I just remembered- Heated/AC lounge to watch the indoor from- 2 story so you can watch from above too
And then a little heated/AC loft for my grooms to stay in when they’re on the night shift ![]()
Equestrian4Life- Well, if you’re still here in 10-15 years, you’ll get to meet some people (Or so I’d guess
)
Shoot! I forgot the vet practice that I’d own when I am an equine vet….

Ok, I have had everything planned and was going to ask this question tomorrow! LOL! Here’s my dream farm:
- Race track for getting miles under a colts feet
- Ponds for swimming with the horses
- No boarders! Training facility only
- I would have a set up for my clinics (20 horses in a clinic)
- I would have 20, 6′ H x 6′ W x 3′ D tack boxes with locks for all the clinic people
- 10 wash rack/stalls, 5 being indoor and 5 being outdoor
- I would have 20 cabins in a wooded area with heat/AC and they would be fully furnished for the clinic people
- a bunch of woods cleared woods, limbs clipped up to 20′ tall so you could ride easily
- AQHA would be the breed as well as TB’s
- 6 +/- stallions
- 15 +/- breeding mares
- 10 +/- geldings for me, myself, and I
- 5 round pens
- 150 +/- acres in pasture but they would be divided in group pastures
- 25 small shelters with small, 1/4 acre runs with dry docks
- 1 indoor divided into 4 groups- reining, barrels, jumping, training
- 1 octagonal outdoor cutting arena
- 1 barn for every horse I (me, not clinics) own, they would be powder coated for the color of that gender/group– Red- stallions, black- mares, hunter green- mares with foals, navy blue- geldings, dark grey or brown- my personal horses
- 10 grooming stalls, 5 indoor, 5 outdoor
- Outdoor but covered arena
- Horse water pool/exerciser
- Hot walker
- A little box thing around every gate (inside the pasture) so if I’m getting a certain horse I can just throw it in there then worry about getting him
- A horse tredmill
- A storeage area for tractors ect..
- Heated/AC barn
- A watch area for the indoor
- A watch area for the outdoors
- A full bathroom, sink, toliet, shower, all that good stuff
- A NICE loft that is always perfectly clean
- A fire alarm system
- With all that investment…. A good insureance company!
Oh geeze… I don’t know what else! I could go on and on and on… but I won’t… =)
-Dry Paint-
**ADD: Oh and I have a drawing of my stalls and what they would look like but I can’t post it on here or I would! =)
ok i want almost every thing u want. weird huh?
my dream horse:
Ben
14yrs
thoroughbred
bay
gelding
sweet fun loving
jumpin dresage kidsafe crosscountry
your barn sounds amazing though. i might just bring my horse (ben) to your barn when you get it running. LOL!!!!!!
Dream Farm:
I want two 10 stall barns (complete with 2 tack rooms, a feed room, and a wash stall), with 4 fields attatched to each of them. One barn will be just for my horses, and if I have any extra stalls they will be for "elite" boarders. Then I will use the other one for horses being boarded. Then I’ll probably have about 4 other pastures for field boarders. Each field will have a run in shed.
Then I will have a cross country field, dressage ring, show jumping ring, and an indoor. I’d also like a dirt track for galloping, but probably won’t be able to do that.
I’d definitely have to find something with trails or close (walking or a short trailer ride) to trails.
Dream Horse:
Breed: Percheron x TB
Gelding
Color: Dapple with dark legs and a grey/white tail
Age: 5
Height: 17+ hands

Ahhh. If only I had 4 million dollars.
I like pretty much any horse. Quarter horses are my favourite, though, that might be a little biased ’cause I grew up around them… =/
So, any (preferably tall) quarter horse or paint would be a dream horse, no matter the temperment.

my dream barn would include:
When you first enter, A big beautiful sign with the stable’s name!

Sweet, in your pocket horse with energy and a big jump. Brave and willing
someone dreams big ;D
but, id have a 9 stall barn directly attached to my house through the great room. it would be behind the house as well. it will also be the first modern style barn. there would be a half bath opposite the greatroom entrance, then the stalls would be next to it. the wash stall will be at the end of the aisle across from the 9th stall. then there would be a small hallway leading to the feed room and tack room. the ta ckroom would extend most of the length of the house, attaching to the garage. there would also be a small closet, shelves, and a sink and cleaning area in the tackroom. the paddocks would be behind the stable. there are 5 paddocks. the indoor arena would also be directly attached to the aisle. there will also be a small parking lot outside the arena for boarders. also, the hayloft is directly above the barn. i think that covers everything. i would start designing right now(im an architecture student) but my pc is out for repair.
