    Is your horse full QH (“foundation”), appendix, or QH cross-bred? How do you feel you have you been recieved by judges who are aware you’re riding a QH? Some are very predjudiced against them, regardless of how well the test is performed.

    overall my comments from the judges are consistent needs impulsion! i get 5 and 6 on impulsion, she is not HOT at all very steady and sound, I get good scores on submission and gaits 6/7 parents full breed QH and there is one TB racehorse way behiind but her papers is all QH, after Doc Olena, cowboys magic HYPP N/N after Impressive, she has a good line, she was bought when she just turned 2Y and I was told she was appendix QH at 16’1″ she is a nice mare
    thanks for watching

    Thnks, we are doing good we are working for rounder outline and more impulsion and so far we are on the right path, my mare is only just turned 7Y and she will mature nicely and her mind and temperament is just the greatest,

    Thnks, I think you are right, she is the best horse I ever, she is a brave trail horse, a jumper, a dressage horse, drives a cart, as sweet as you need her to be with small kids too, let novice, my dad, put her halter on out in the pasture,
    you name it she goes to battle for me anytime
    thnks for noticing us, :)

    Lovely little horse ! I breed appendix horses for dressage and I love the breed even though they are so overlooked for dressage horses my old girl can hold her own at 4th level against the big warmblood boys ! Fantastic to see it ! Enjoy your horse, looks like it is a pleasure to ride. Have fun !

    Great job! I have a 5 yr old appendix QH gelding and we’re doing dressage now. went from doing hunt seat pleasure and changed to eventing because there is just so much more of a connection with him i feel.

    My five year old mare is out of Zippo Pat Bar and other western pleasure lines. She’s extremely calm and I’ve roped off her, cracked whips while on her bareback and bridleless, jumped her, taken her over all sorts of obsticals, and I’m now working on teaching her some tricks. Not quite dressage – I have no clue how to train for dressage – but just as fun, and in my opinion, just as nice to watch.

    I suggest you get a nice dressage trainer, read Kyrakirklunds books too,, start reading dressage today magazine, don’t try to train dressage if you have no experience, it can harm more then do good, I have many years of experience and i still ahve trainers around me that know much more then I know,
    QH have a great mind and most of the time a great workethic so they very easy to train, good luck i look foreard to see your videos too,/C

    See theres just no reason why quarter horses cant do dressage! I have people tell me all the time that if I want to do good in dressage I’d better ditch my quarter horse gelding and get a warmblood! I think its all about tradition is the problem.

    Well done, what a beautiful horse! This is the first QH I have ever seen working round, let along doing dressage. She has lovely swinging loose paces, almost looks like a miniature warmblood. She’s so elastic, keep up the great work with her, it will definitely pay off.
    Great job! xo

    @eventerkatie84
    thank you i will be posting a video soon that is from now what you’ve seen here is from 2007, she is much more developed now and even more miniature warmblood type, i am also riding her in a double bridle for more engagement with changes to snaffle rubber pelham/plain snaffels too, keep looking, you will be even more surprised what a QH can look like :)
