How Should I Go About Training My Thoroughbred?
I’m about to buy an 11yr old Thoroughbred gelding who rode trails all his life. I’m a Hunter/Jumper English rider who does some dressage, and I need a project horse. How should I go about training him to English?

Most horses do not mind a different type of saddle, but introduce it to him slowly. I would take him to some english lessons so you would have a professional teaching you the right way. If you are not doing high level dressage training then you should be fine. Most western horses know how to half-pass and do basic lateral moves. Good luck and have fun with your new horse!
