The Big "if" the Horse World Was Strong?
If there was no problems in the horse world and such, what would your dream be?
I would be an Oldenburg breeder. I would train in dressage or jumping based on the potential and movements. Along with the Oldenburg, I would rescue OTTB’s and train them. If I find with a good temperament and confo the way I like it, I would put her in the Oldenburg breed book and use her as a brood as well as a show or lesson horse at my place. I would have a round stable with four openings with stalls and a tack room around the edge and in the middle, a large round training area. Each 3 or 4 section of stalls would open an individual paddock. There would also be large pastures surround along with a large indoor arena and outdoor arena. This is my dream that I know would be impossible. What’s your’s?
Another, if the world didn’t have an over abundance of horses.
IF the horse world was strong, and the economy wasn’t in ruins, I would breed my mare. once, for a foal of my own, to keep. which I really want to do, but since horses are so overpopulated I’m probably not going to.
or I would use her as my start to breeding QH’s. she’s only got a couple minor confo faults, really nice bloodlines, and good temperment. sigh oh well. I might go adopt a foal, that will hold over my horse baby blues. lol
My dream would be to find good, safe, happy homes for horses who don’t have them. If money wasn’t an issue, I would buy a bunch of cutting horses to show and breed
Open a horse rescue, and go to the Olympics with them. I would find loving homes, and use them thereputiclly.
If I had an unlimited supply of money, I would go to the best equine school there is, then train with the best until I knew I could make it on my own. Maybe make it to the Olympics on a great horse. After that I would build a state of the art stabling facility where I would board and train horses, and give lessons to young riders that dream of being as successful as I am one day. Attending the best school, training with the best, the Olympics, and the state of the art boarding facility are much too far out of my reach. But teaching young riders that look up to me is one thing that I can look foreword to in my future:)
I’d have a huge spread somewhere and take in animals with no where else to go.
I would be a small scale Welsh Pony breeder – maybe 5 foals per year. I would have a large farm with an indoor and a cross country course. I would start all the babies under saddle and sell them as 3 or 4 year olds. I would allow Pony Club to use my facility, but would not have any boarders or lesson students myself (so I wouldn’t have to deal with people’s issues). I would employ some of the older pony clubbers to do the work around my farm and help with the ponies.
I WANT TO TEACH KIDS AND ADLUTS HOW TO RIDE, ESPECIALLY IF THEY’RE SPECIAL NEEDS, BECAUSE WHEN I WAS LITTLE I HAD AND SURVIVED CANCER, BUT I HAD TO LEARN HOW WALK AGAIN THERAPUTIC RIDING HELPED ME SO I’D LIKE TO GIVE BACK TO MY COMMUNITY, I’D ALSO LIKE TO RETRAIN RESCUED HORSES THAT COME TO MY FARM TO BE LESSON HORSES.
I would have a small farm in Virginia. I would have a WB stud, genetically-tested black, four socks and a stripe OR blaze, 16.2-16.3hh. Olympic-caliber horse. Like this picture.

I would also have my horse and my first horse that I sold years ago, and I would have several rescued horses that have nowhere else to go and that are unsound to ride.
I’d also like an Appaloosa sport horse stallion. The build in the first photo with the color in the second photo.

if….i didn’t have to worry about anything, i would run a huge rescue and offer homes to horses that nobody wants. I would travel the country just to pick up horses that needed a place to go.
"If there was no problems in the horse world" we wouldn’t need any rescues and we wouldn’t need to rescue OTTBs, now would we?
If there were no problems, I’d sell a few of my rescues. I have too many. They’re all well cared for, and loved, and vetted and farriered and have 24/7 turnout with shelters, and I can afford them. But I don’t need them all, and if I could be assured they would have a good home for life I would sell a few.
I have a large farm, with classic wood fenced pastures and paddocks, two separate stables, fields and woods with crosscountry jumps, everything I ever wanted. That’s what I dreamed of when I was young. Now what I dream of is more time – less time caring for too many horses, more time working with just one or two.
As the world stands… if I hadn’t rescued them, they’d be dead. I love them, I want them, they need me… they have a home for life… and I have a job for life.
I would own a therapuetic riding stable or a horse rescue and rehab center for horses. I hope to be around horses my entire life no matter what I am doing.
MY dream is that after high school I open up a breeding farm for Paints and Irish Sport Horses that will become amazing jumpers. I’ll live in Alberta and end up training a foal for my mom. I’ll keep my current horse there where he could go into retirement in pasture
I’ll have an indoor and outdoor arena. The indoor will be heated and there will be a lounge with a huge picture window for people to watch there friends and family ride. I will have a huge barn with tack lockers for boarders. My horses will be very well known.
Here is our barn:
