What Breed of Horse Would Be Good at Hunter and Dressage?
In 2011 my mom hopes to get me a horse and i’m trying to figure out a breed that would be good for hunter/jumper and dressage. My mom said a anglo-arabian would be good any thoughts

First things first: it doesn’t matter what breed. (unless you plan to show in particular breed shows.) Any breed can do anything. It just depends on the one horse you’re looking at. In my parts, it’s impossible to find an Anglo-Arab. I go with any horse that’s available and that suits my needs. Like I had a Saddlebred mare once and she wasn’t like most Saddlebreds. I trained her to do Western Pleasure. She’s one of the calmest horses you’ll ever meet. Any horse would be fine, I think. But of course as you know some breeds tend to be excel in certain disciplines. For your purposes:
Anglo-Arab
Quarab
Quarter Horse
Arabian
Thoroughbreds
Danish Warmblood
Swedish Warmblood
Holstein
Hanoverian
Trakener
Dutch Warmblood
Belgian Warmblood
American Warmblood
Rhinelander
Mecklenburg
or really any ‘warmblood.’ Just please remember that most sport horses are pretty high-strung. I’m not saying you can’t handle them and I’m not saying all of them are like that. It’s just typical. But, on the other hand, any breed will work as long as the horse has got the ideal conformation, temperament, skills, styles, and heart to do what you want him to do.
