What Kind of Horse Do You Own and What Riding Diciplines Do You Enjoy?
I own a black and white paint mare.
I ride Western primarily, but can get by in English as well.
I barrel race, pleasure, trail, train, and learning to rope this spring.
In English I ride training level dressage. Nothing exeptional by far.
How about you? Just curious

I have a 15-hand buckskin Quarter Horse mare that I use for gaming (she’s amazing at pole weaving! She can throw down a 12 second time any day!). I also have a 16-hand Appaloosa gelding that I use for performance events (western pleasure/horsemanship, english pleasure/equitation, trail, showmanship). My mom has a bay Paso Fino mare that she trail rides on. We just have such random breeds, but they all have jobs that they are excellent at!
Here is my buckskin mare!

I own zero horses (boo hoo!) and enjoy all types of riding, but I especially love dressage. I like bumming around on trails, too. Haven’t done much of either lately, however.
i have an Egyptian Arabian. Just western pleasure for me. to old for competitions. just like trail riding now.
I own 3 horses.
A bay mare with a white star. 15hh. Dressage with her. (Piper).
A grey (white looking) gelding. 16hh. Showjumping with him. (Spirit).
A dappled grey mare. 15.3hh. She’s only 4, so nothing much yet, she’s showing dressage potential. (Bella). Im learning more about Western though!!!
I own an 11 yr old black bay thoroughbred gelding
and an 8 month old paint foal
I ride western pleasure, english pleasure, trail, & later this year i should be doing more jumping lessons.
The foal is going to be trained as a reiner or barrel racer if she stays stocky xD if not then my trainer thinks she’d be an awesome E.P horse.. So who knows!

I have a 15hh skewbald gelding who is lovely! i lost my confidence a while ago with my previous horse (16.3hh chestnut TB mare.. yup.. she was quite literally a nightmare! but i loved her!!!) so wanted something more steady and calm which is certainly what rodney is!! and i wanted something that could jump when i felt ready, and was happy hacking in company and out of it!
Now i show jump mostly, up to about 3ft6 on rodders, and go to a couple of unaffiliated shows and that kinda thing.. problem is.. Rods doesn’ t like fillers.. so that makes my life a little hard… but he’s got a super little jump!
Unfortunately though.. I’m growing out of him.. =( I’m 15 and still growing! i do love him though but i think it’s time for him to go to a hacking home, and give someone else their confidence back!! i’m planning on getting something nice and young to bring on and hopefully affiliate! probs a warmblood… hmm.. and no more greys or skewbalds! too hard to groom for a show!!!! lol!!
anyway, sorry I’m rambling!! but none of my mates seem to be much keen on horses and they glaze over a bit when I start rambling (as I am now…)
btw, your horse sounds gorgeous!!! i have to say.. skewbalds and piebalds are STUNNING!!! =D xx
I own 1 Tennessee walker and one Appaloosa. With working 2 jobs, only have time for trail rides, and just spending time with them. They are lovable.
I own a beautiful liver chestnut welsh cob x thoroughbred mare.
my mum has owned her since before i was born and we met just a few days after I was born. I think we have a special bond because of this.
I love just being around my horse as she has the most amazing personality ever.
I love taking part in show Jumping and my horse loves it too.
This link is to photos of all my ponies. Lady is the one I have been talking about.

I have a 16.3hh Chestnut Appendix QH gelding (Woody)
We ride english, although I bet he would be awesome doing western as well, he has great lines with Doc Bar and Three Bars as his Grandpa and Great Grandpa!
We have trained up to 2nd Level Dressage, showing mostly training level and 1st.
Now, as I am not showing anymore, I am getting him into some jumping!
I miss him right now though, because I am starting grad school and he is home on kind of a vacation until I am done in the Fall of 2010

I don’t own a horse, but I love TBs and Warmbloods. I ride Hunter Jumper and Dressage. I am also starting Eventing.
I have a 15.3hh section d called Harry and he loves jumping.
My favorite is the chase me charlie, (where the jump goes bigger and bigger) but recently I have been enjoying dressage.
No one expects and chunky welsh d to be good at dressage so everyone is really impressed when I win my class lol.
I think flat is more rewarding because unless you get everything perfect your horse won’t give you anything. Jumping you can make mistakes and 9 out of 10 times your horse will go anyway.
Well, I don’t own a horse. But I do love riding. Mainly I like jumping. But, I’d have to say, the few times I’ve done cross country, I’ve loved it!
I have a 12 Year old Tennessee Walker, and obviously, he is gaited. I trail ride and just around at my house, he is a pretty good looker but not quite show quality, and he isn’t exactly the best behaved so that doesn’t help either.
I have 3 horses… The one that I ride most of the time is a Black Tennessee walker gelding "Shady" and he is 14 yrs old. I really enjoy Jumping with him.. he LOVES to jump!!
Romeo is a 4yr old dapple grey thoroughbred from the track… it’s not to enjoyable to ride wester because he is super bumpy!
Portia is my other horse from the track… she is a dark bay mare and we just got her…. I dont ride her yet =)
I personally love english and Jumping… western isn’t one of my faves!
Hunting with hounds – its the best !!
At the moment I have 5.
3 Quarter Horses
1 mutt
1 Paint filly
I ride western, I have rode english.
Trails and pleasure riding now
Use’ta do Western Pleasure, Barrels and other speed events and team roping.
I’m getting elderly now and it hurts all over to ride hard.
I own 3 horses and a donkey
My horses are:
6 year old QH/Arab X
22 year old QH
25 year old Arab/QH X
7 year old 38" (almost) miniature Sicilian Donkey
I trail ride exclusively primarily in a western saddle. I also drive my donkey but just for fun. I don’t "show" my animals mostly because I’m not interested in competition and never have been. I enjoy trail riding with friends far more.
i own a chestnut and white gelding.
i lOVE hunter jumpers!!!
i jump, trail ride, and hope to start eventing this year!
I own a QH and a Qh/Arab mare
Qh-palimino 5 yrs old, I use him for english pleasure classes, trail
Qh/Arabian-sorrel, 13 yrs old, barrel racing, gaming, and pleasure classes and trail
I use both of them in 4h.
i mainly run barrels and poles but i also ride hunt and do some jumping and western pleasure but i really want to get into reining and dressage and more jumping.
I have a ton of horses. I have saddlebreds, ROCKY AND KENTUCKY MOUTNAINS (my favorite ;p), Tennessee Walkers, miniatures, thoroughbreds, quarter horses and one walkaloosa. I main trail ride (we dont just walk the trail ride either we like to run and rack. I show in every disipline except jumping. I love racing and barrels, poles, endurnace and everything. I lvoe it. I mainly do just horsemanship though and show the horses different gaits around a circle. lol;p. I also train, breed, trail ride, show, sale, trade, and everything there is to do really. Horses are a part of my life like literally. I ride both western and english depending on the disipline and my mood.
Ashleigh
I have 10 Registered Clydesdales. All bays. I ride english and western.
I have 12 rescues at the moment, and my daughter and husband have 3 horses between them, but my primary riding horse is a 15 year old QH/Standardbred gelding named Clifford -pokes profile pic- I have ridden western and english but western is my current disipline.
I own two Haflingers, one Connemara, and one Hanoverian. I do dressage, but I jump just a little (mainly for fun).
I own a TB mare called Misty. I just switched to a dressage trainer and she has been helping us and having me do a lot of dressage work. I wan To show dressage at the lowest level possible in the summer. So you could say I ride a little bit of dressage but mainly I do Hunter Jumper.
I don’t own any horses any more, but my stepmom had 30+ arabian horses. So, I pretty much have varied choices. But, I mainly stick to a 14 year old straight egyptian mare.
I primarily ride endurance and dressage. But have done western, exercise training for racehorses, hunters, etc.
I have several from Arabs to Warmblood…I ride western mainly i do have a baby right now that im hoping one day he will be my dressage horse.
I own a bright bay ASH (australian stock horse) x.
I do mostly ride English, but I prefer Western. I ride at the western gaming events (such as poles, barrels and other games), though I am a member of a pony club, but I hate dressage and jumping, I just do it for the sporting games.
I ride in an all purpose, though I’m saving up for a stock fender.
i lease a black and white quarter/paint gelding
i ride western and english but mostly western and bareback
i’m not a good rider but i ride a lot in the summer just for fun
I LOVE TRAIL RIDING!!!!!
